Top 50 list information for programmers

Produce top 50 lists as requested

1. Qualifying ages based on 1^st of month list is produced.

2. Membership valid plus 2 month grace period. Example - list is produced in March 98. List will include all valid member types whose membership expired Jan 98 or later. Valid or invalid membership types to be provided when new codes known. Will exclude prisoners, x-members, complimentary members and possibly others.

3. Activity. - to appear on list, the player must have had rated activity within past 12 months. Activity must be regular, not quick or correspondence. Match play does not count. Quick list uses quick activity

4. Select highest ratings for each list. Sort in descending order. Provide rank number for each player except that players with tied ratings will be left blank except for first tied player. If more then one player is tied for 50^th place, all will be included.

5. Exclude all whose FIDE federation of record is not USA

6. Will need field to indicate that player has been verified. We need to inspect all new players to check before appearing on list. This indicator will be used for that purpose.

Provide List for

1. Correspondence

2. Top overall - no restriction

3. Top 50 Ages 8 and under, U13, U16, U21

4. Top 50 Ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18

5. Top 50 Ages 65 and over

6. Top 50 Women overall

7. Top 50 Women ages under 16, U13

8. Top 50 Quick - for quick ratings only - requires activity in last year in quick event

9. Top 50 most active players, most active women players, most active U21 players, active TDs, and Active Affiliates - all these are for year of record. Will have to provide operator input to override default of current year.

Will need formatted file output for rating supplement and for web site. Both to be word documents in table format. See attached printout for format and font sizes and other niceties.

Activity to be based on # of games for players. Both quick and regular activity count toward total.

For affiliates and TDs:

Based on number of tournaments. Tiebreaker will be total # of players. Report will include name, # of tournaments, and number of players. Both regular and quick activity count. Club TDs not eligible.

Membership requirements will be same as for T50 lists. Need to talk about TD certification expiration.

Will need to be able to produce a report for a given TD or affiliate that will output list of events to answer questions. Report available either screen or printout. Will include Event ID, Name, # of sections, # of players in ending date order.
