Who: Any
student who attends school in
TCA Region 5. Please bring a chess set and clock if you have one.
What: 5-SS, G/30. A single 1/2 point bye is allowed if requested at
least 1/2 hour prior to round 2
Where: Bellaire Senior High School, 5100 Maple Street, Bellaire, Texas.
When: Saturday, February 8, 2003. Round 1 begins at 9:00 a.m.
Onsite registration is between 7:15 and 7:45 a.m.
Sections: Kindergarten, Primary JV (U700), Primary Open, Elementary JV
(U800), Elementary Open, Middle School JV (U900), Middle School Open, High
School JV (U1000), High School Open, and Collegiate Open. Texas Chess
Association section restrictions apply.
Food: Snacks, drinks, and pizza will be available
at reasonable cost. The lunch break will be after round two.
Rules and Regulations: This is a USCF rated event.
TCA & USCF
rules will apply.
Trophies: At a minimum, trophies for the top five students and top
three teams in each section.
Entry Fee: $10.00
if payment is mailed and postmarked or submitted online no later than
January 31, 2003. Thereafter, the entry fee is $20.00. Do not register online after February 6, 2003.
Do not mail after February 4, 2003.
TCA Membership Fee: $1.00, unless you are a current TCA Member.
The annual TCA Membership fee is $7.50.
USCF Membership: required for all sections except for K, Primary,
and Primary U700. Please bring proof of membership.
USCF Membership Fees: age 14 and under, $19; age 19 and under, $25.

mail if postmarked no later than January 31, 2003 or by e-mail if sent no later
than February 6th. Onsite cancellations must be made before 8:30 a.m.
