Texas High School Chess Championships

7 round Swiss System (No Elimination) with a G/90 Time Control.

Entry Fee is $29 by 2/11 else $51.

Open to Texas Residents and school. Must be in 9th - 12th grades to play. Participants cannot play up.

Two Sections: Championship and J V. The  J V section is opened to players rated U1000 in February Supplement.

(Note that 9th Graders in Junior High School [no 10th grade] may play for school that they should attend next year.)

Four Year Scholarship to The University of Texas at Dallas to the winner of the High School Championship Section. Winner must meet UTD entrance requirements and follow chess team rules.

 

Trophies to top 25 individuals; medals for plus score, and trophies to Top 20 Teams.

 

Side Events: K-12 Blitz on Friday 2/25 at 8 pm, $10.  K-12 Bughouse on Sat at 8:35 pm, $20 per team please include partner's name.
